Yesss... it's been awhile since my last upload - a while that's been related mostly due to being unable to decide which song to create a new music video for. Then, not too long ago I was introduced to this song. I researched the artist and found out they were an independent band, by now broken-up, but with lots of great music. This was the Waking Ashland song that got out to me the most. A video existed for it, but I didn't think it gave the right message and theme so meh, I took that video and a bunch of other Waking Ashland videos and I decided to put them together. Here's the end result. Enjoy people. In 1804, Henry Clay began acquiring land on the outskirts of Lexington, Kentucky to build a farm and home for his young family. This piece of property became know as Ashland. It was named Ashland because of the many Ash Trees located on its grounds. Clay, known as "The Great Comproiser" for his ability to bring others together in agreement, was a Lexington Lawyer, and United States Congressman and Senator, as well as Secretary of State from 1825 - 1829. Ashland is now a museum. The museum includes 17 acres of the original estate grounds and is located on Richmond Road in Lexington, Kentucky. Today, Ashland is a National Historic Landmark and site of profound history. It serves as a place of retreat and comfort for many of its neighbors, the people of Lexington, and thousands of visitors who visit the site each year. A collection of photographs my dad took in the late 1930's and early 40's around Ashland Ky. The riverfront shots are of interest considering the new facilities that have just been built. The last shot is looking down from "Melody Mountain" onto the area that is now the Town Center Mall. I wrote and recorded the soundtrack.
